My husband called me at work and said he borrowed his dad’s power washer and was going to start on the driveway and front of the house. Both kids were home and got to be his reluctant helpers. It looked so much better but man was it hot. So I told him when I got home I’d help with the back of the house and the patio. I actually sort of enjoyed it. It’s a good job for you if you like that instant gratification like painting a room. Seeing the dirt instantly wash away.
I just wasn’t prepared for getting completely soaked when I did the porch ceiling. The hubs used a power wash chemical in a pump sprayer on all the vinyl siding and concrete first. Then I sprayed it all down. But the coolest thing was the surface cleaning attachment.
It sprays in a circular motion blasting away the stains on the concrete. We had some residual marks from the 4th of July fireworks. I may or may not have left emerald green spots on the patio throwing smoke bombs and acting like I was in a scene from Wicked.
Live and learn people. Also avoid sidewalk tattoos! D got some in her Easter basket year before last. I went over them with the most powerful nozzle. You can still barely see them. Never again.
It all looks so nice and clean. Ready for some new furniture and some plants. Planning on painting the doors and changing fixtures too. Maybe we will wait until it cools off just a little bit.
